Turning a dream into a reality, AJAM is officially opened a second building for students to learn jazz music! AJAM East in Hood River debuted on May 7th, 2026 and expands on the still-operating downtown Portland location. The new AJAM is part of "The Ruins" space in Hood River, Oregon. Stay tuned for more big updates coming soon as this building becomes an integral part of the Pacific Northwest jazz scene! Thank you to our wonderful community for this opportunity! 🦋

Don't worry — about downtown Portland location isn't going anywhere. Alan Jones and the talented team of jazz teachers will be bouncing back and forth between Portland and Hood River as this new building will be local hub for more curious students of music who live a little farther east to have their own location to learn instruments. 

This space is as much for us as it is for you! Many of the Pacific Northwest's finest have come and gone from AJAM, and there will always be a new crop of talent eager to get their feet in the door. This 2nd AJAM location is just getting started and needs students. Join us on this next chapter and help us define what it means to be a jazz musician in Oregon!
